October Update

So these pictures didn't come up in the order I wanted but you get the point. Grant this Halloween was Spider-Man, we are going through a phase where everything and anything has to be Spider-Man. And the funny thing is, is that he has never watched anything with Spider-Man in it so we have no clue where he got this obsession. He loved Trick or Treating this year and covered most of the neighborhood before telling me he was done and going home and eating lots of his candy!!!

After carving the pumpkins I roasted the seeds. I really didn't think that Grant would like them but he LOVED them and kept asking for more"peppers!" (That is what he called the seeds)

Like every year since we have moved to Mooresville we went to Carrigan Farms which is right down the road from us. It isn't expensive at all and you get to do a lot of things. You get a hayride to a petting area where the kids can pet all types of farm animals, then you get to go and pick your pumpkin right out of the patch. After the hayride is over you get to go and drink some yummy apple cider. I was very excited to find that their apple cider was very close to Connor Prairie's which I have missed since I don't live close enough.

Grant got bored one day while I was getting ready to go out and he decided to get into Mommy's eye shadows!! I have to say he doesn't make a cute girl :)

Fourth Of July

So I am a horrible blogger I know. I don't update as much as I should. So here we go. Grant is getting bigger and bigger everyday. He is talking so much more, and really listens to what Jon and I say, then he likes to repeat it. I hurt my back a few weeks ago, I knew it was time to go to the doctor when Grant started walking around saying "my back hurts" he even walked up the the mail man and said it!! He is too funny!!

We had a house full of people down for the Fourth of July. Dick and Kristy (Jon's buddy from High School) came down along with Brad, Jen and Cole. It was so much fun and I love having a house full of people. We had a great busy weekend. We first took the boys to the Lazy 5 Ranch to feed the animals and they both loved it. Now that they boys are bigger I wish that we lived closer so they could get together more. Then we had a block party, since we live in the cul-de-sac it is convenient that the parties are always right in front of our house. It was a great time, we had a huge bounce house again, cookout, corn hole, music, fireworks and alcohol. All the ingredients needed for a fun time. Grant did better this year with the fireworks, but after one tipped over and hit two of our neighbors that is when I took him in for bed. That whole weekend was a blast and Jon and I hope that Kristy and Dick are really serious about moving down here.

PS I think Grant walked off with my SD card so I will put more pics up later

Myrtle Beach

My whole family met down at Myrtle Beach, SC for our first family vacation. It was great to have everyone in the same place for a while. And it was a much needed break from everything that has been going on here lately. Grant had a blast and loved the ocean. Once he was in you couldn't get him out of it. And he wanted to keep going further and further out, what a dare-devil!!! We spent most of our time by the pool or down at the beach. We managed to go to the Ripley's Aquarium which was a really fun place for everyone. Here are some pictures from our vacation I will have more as soon as my mom sends them to me. I hope all of us have a Happy Mothers Day too!!!

Quick Update

I just wanted to let everyone know that Baby Boy Brown was delivered stillborn at 2:16am on Saturday April 4, 2009. We never had any boy names picked out and it was just to hard to find a name during those few days we had. I thought that I would be so traumatized from this whole experience (which to a point I am.) But we had the best nurses that you could ask for throughout the whole labor process and I didn't really feel any physical pain. We are going to plant a tree in our baby's honor within the next few weeks. We are slowly healing from this (well there is no nice way to say it) "kick in the balls," and in time I will be blogging about happier things such as our vacation to Myrtle Beach coming up. There is a reason this all happened to our family and one day we will know the answer. I truly think that you are meant to have to children God gives you, and though Baby Brown didn't make it to see this world he is in such a better place now. I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!!!!

Baby Brown.....

It is with such a sad and heavy heart that I am updating our family blog. Today our family went to a regular appointment to see if Baby Brown was a boy or girl. At that time the doctor was deliverying another baby so we had to wait. Instead of sending me home ( this is a one doctor practice) one of the nurses decided that she would attempt to find the gender out then verify it with Dr. Roque. We all went back into the room and for about 10 minutes she tried to get a good picture of the baby but I noticed she was having a hard time. I asked if their was a heart beat and without any worry she said yes that it was just an old machine and the doctor would have to do it. With that the doctor came in and within 2 minutes told us that this "wasen't a normal baby" that there was NO amniotic fluid and one of the kidneys was enlarged. Immediatly she made an appointment for us to go downtown Charlotte to a high risk doctor. We took Grant home and dropped him off with our neighbors who were so kind to take him on such short notice. Keep in mind this whole time Jon and I were preparing for a birth defect or maybe a handicap child at worst case. After a drive that seemed to last forever we arrived at the high risk doctor. That is when he informed us that our baby was a boy and had a strong heartbeat and was proper size for his gestational age, but indeed there was NO amniotic fluid and they could only find one kidney. On top of that the only kidney he has, has Renal Cysts on it. As we waited for our options we had none. I can carry the baby to term or as far as my body will let me and deleiver, but without the amniotic fluid the babies lungs can not mature. Or I can be induced this week. We asked if there was anyway to put fluid in or give me steroid shot to mature the lungs but at 20 weeks there just isn't much they can do. My mom is flying in tommrow to be with us and help us through this horrible time. I am having such a hard time with this because our baby still moves and kicks in me even as I type this. It is so sureal, I had a great pregnancy with Grant this shouldn't be happening. I can sleep tonight because I keep waking up thinking this is a terrible dream then having to realize that it isn't. Sorry for such a depressing post and I know my spelling is shitty but I just thought I would let everyone read this instead of trying to tell everyone individually. I will keep everyone updated on what is going on when I can. Thanks for all the support and please send prayers to our family.

Time for an update

This week A LOT has happened!!!! First of all Jon's brother Tim and his girlfriend Stephanie came down to visit!!! Grant had a blast with as he calls them Rock and Phee. Unfortunately for them their weeks vacation fell right when North Carolina was getting a snow storm!!! So when they first got here it rained and rained, then that rain turned to heavy snow, we got around 5 inches!!! After a few snow days Jon and I went back to work. Well unfortunately I only worked for two days last week before my boss decided to tell me that he wanted to switch my hours from 7:30 am- 12:00pm to 2:30pm-6:30pm. On top of that I would be in Grants room during that time, let's just say that Grant isn't the best for me when I am in the room!!!! My boss tried to offer me these hours a while back and I told him that it was just impossible for me to work those hours. It would interfere with Grant's whole schedule and I wouldn't get home until 7:30, so it would be hurry up feed Grant and put him to sleep. So I decided not to take the hours and now Grant and I are spending more quality time together. Which I am really excited to do before the new baby gets here!!!

Our goals before Baby Brown gets here in August are: to get Grant potty trained and to switch him into a big boy bed!!!! I know that once the baby is here that he might regress in the potty training area but I'm not worried about that to much. On the pregnancy front I am 17 weeks and I don't feel a bit pregnant. Your second child is so different than your first!! I don't have the time to focus really on this pregnancy because of a certain someone running around all the time!!! I feel bad for this but everyone is assuring me that it is normal to feel like this!!! I don't even think I have picked up a pregnancy book at all yet!!! Anyways my doctor is being mean and making me wait until I am 22 or 24 weeks to find the sex out!!!! I found out at 18 weeks with Grant so I am getting very impatient!!! So I think that around the third week in April is when I will find out so we will keep you posted......
